Sambal terasi is a fiery Indonesian chili sauce made with dried shrimp paste, bird’s eye chilies, garlic, sugar, salt and citrus. It is often served with fried foods or as a dipping sauce. It is not for the faint of heart and is your go-to sauce if you are a huge fan of spicy food. The name ‘Sambal’ goes for all Indonesian sauces.
Ingredients : Water, cayenne pepper, vegetable oil, large red chili, phosphate stabilizer, red onion, palm sugar, garlic, salt, shrimp paste, flavor enhancers (monosodium glutamate, disodium-5′-inosinate), preservative sodium benzoate.
