The curry tree is originally an Indian tropical and subtropical tree from the wine window family. The leaves of the tree are known as a curry sheet and form an important herb in the South Indian and Sri-Lankan cuisine. In these areas, Kerrieblad is widely used in preparing curries, but is traditionally not part of curry powder.
