Pecel (pronounced: pêcêl) is a dish consisting of boiled vegetables, such as string beans, spinach, bean sprouts, and peanut sauce. Pecel is a typical Javanese dish originating from the Special Region of Yogyakarta and has existed since the 9th century AD.
