Krecek or kerecek is dried cow skin that can be used in cooking or made into crackers, the cooking method uses the same spices as fried chilli sauce, only the sauce is rather large. In Central Java, krecek means fried tempeh chilli with skin crackers.
The ingredients of krecek are made from cow skin that is cut into small pieces and fried so that it becomes a skin cracker. After becoming a skin cracker, it is then mixed in certain dishes, either with tofu or tempeh or oncom.
Sambal goreng krecek is very tasty and delicious when combined with dishes that have white rice.
